BUTTERCHEESE
Butterkäse (‘butter cheese’) Although the name of this German cheese suggests differently, no butter is added to this semi-hard cheese. The fatty percentage of 45% gives the cheese a buttery aroma. This is the reason behind the popularity of this cheese, particularly in Germany and Austria. Butterkäse is very suitable for sandwiches, but its melting qualities also make it a good choice for hamburgers or for use in other dishes.
